Mlely is an internationally acclaimed pianist-composer, whose work has garnered critical notice around the world, acclaimed for its freshness and originality.  A songwriter as well <http://www.jazcraft.net/JazCraftCatalog.html>, he has authored 3 musical theatre works - words and music - one, "And All That Jazz," which ran 4 months in San Francisco.  Threnody For An Unborn Child, from his solo piano cd, “Re-Entry,” is the music used in “How The Cookie Crumbles,” since 2008 into 2010 a continuously running off-Broadway play in New York, produced by the Xoregos Performing Company.

Mlely’s professional music industry associations have included Freddie Hubbard, George Harrison, The Cunninghams on multi-charted and Grammy-Nominated albums, as well as several albums under his own name which have received Top-10 National Airplay and worldwide encomia.  <http://www.jazcraft.net/acclamations.html>.  Hubbard was caused to exclaim to Mlely, "You write my kind of music, man."  There is a unique identity to all of Mlely's work.

In a major boost to his career, Mlely was featured on a European tour, which he left midway to take care of a sudden family emergency back home in America, causing him to curtail his career for over a decade.  His decade-long hiatus from professional activity gave him the time to create and lay much of the groundwork for what constitues his current library of work.  Now no longer performing live, Mlely prefers, instead, to concentrate on composing, writing songs and instrumental work on recordings that occasionally include spoken-word, dramatic recitative, orchestral, and chorale.

He is author of “The 8-Tone Quarto-Modes Concept,” new theory for improvisation, published by JazCraft <http://www.jazcraft.net/8tone.html>, as well as numerous essays.  For more information, type “G. F. Mlely” into Google.
